Margaret and Friends.....

with John Flinders: music for clarinet and piano
Pianist John Flinders discovered his love of ensemble playing whilst studying music at university. He specialised in the art of accompaniment and is now in huge demand by singers and instrumentalists alike for his intuitive skills. He has a particular affinity with the clarinet repertoire and has joined Margaret as a recitalist on many occasions.

The Shackleton Trio - with Lesley Schatzberger and Ingrid Pearson: music for three period basset horns
Our trio is named in tribute to Sir Nicholas Shackleton. Knighted for his services to earth sciences, Nick was also a passionate amateur clarinet player and his collection of more than 750 historical clarinets now in the Edinburgh Museum inspired generations of players. Our basset horns are copies of Nick’s original Viennese instruments of 1800. Lesley Schatzberger has been at the forefront of historical instrument performance and teaches at the University of York as well as running Jessie’s Fund to provide music therapy in children’s hospices and music workshops for children with special needs. Ingrid Pearson is Deputy Head of the Graduate School at the Royal College of Music and performs with many period instrument ensembles.
